Up and Down and All Around

Mt. Webster, just across Route 302, gave breathtaking views to climbers on Willey's, if they took the time to turn around.

Brian and I continually turned to face Mt. Webster and scope the routes on its west face. We had initially planned to do Shoestring Gully the next day, but the more we looked, the more the gully in the center of the photo - which at the moment I think is Central Gully - caught our attention. There are a number of mixed exits climbing straight up the rock and ice where the gully itself turns sharply and deeply left. Both routes looked amazing. Both routes looked big. And long. Very long.
