Hurry Down Doomsday

When I'm fishing
Let's keep one thing clear
The bait's over there
The brew's right here
Two six packs and a big bag of ice
Didn't even catch a bit
But the brew tasted nice

Hey, it's Brian on the first pitch of Hitchcock Gully (again).

Other than briefly questioning the integrity of a chockstone (the only real piece of protection on the upper part of the pitch) Brian sailed through to the top12 and I followed without incident, enjoying myself a bit more this time up.

12I, now having wired the first pitch, shaved even more time from my personal best, this time abandoning my tools entirely for the rock section and using them again only to get sticks in the frozen dirt (yes) that capped the pitch. Mike also improved on his previous record of ~15 seconds idling by actually stopping to converse with me at the belay. He kept it light-hearted and congratulatory which I took as slightly patronizing and guilt-ridden (for his previous short-stays [see Vol. 1 - mkg]) but nonetheless appreciated.
