New England Skiing, 5 March 2005
Mt. Garfield, White Mountains

Trail junction. .2 miles to go. It quickly gets too steep to skin a few hundred feet up the trail, but that didn't keep me from trying. I gave up pretty quickly, however, and stashed the skis, knowing I wouldn't be skiing down the steep, narrow, twisty trail from the summit. I kicked steps up loosely-packed powder, courtesy of the hikers who had come over and down from Lafayette.
