We ate a little grub, then the Jeffs skied another couple runs on Palmer. I Magic Miled it one more run, but the snow was getting sticky as glue down low, and my shortie skis weren't liking it much at all. I decided to quit while I could still walk, and soon hooked up with Brett at the Lodge.
The photo above shows Jeff Keeney tele-skiing on Magic Mile. It was great seeing Jeff K. again after our trip to Mt. Shasta. Jeff and I see things very much eye-to-eye when it comes to climbing. We're both fairly conservative, and that's a good common trait to find in a climbing partner. Jeff K. had to take off that afternoon and drive back to his wife and two boys in Portland to celebrate a birthday and Father's Day. We all wished Jeff K. could have climbed with us, but if I know the guy he had just as much fun with his family as he would have had climbing - which is really pretty cool if you think about it. I hope to see him again soon. |
