| Liberty Cap from the summit. We saw a team pulling over Liberty Ridge, considered to be the quintessental hardman route on the mountain. I hope they made it down okay. It's a long way down from Liberty Cap. Almost all teams carry over and descend an easier route. We didn't see anyone come off the mountain after we descended, but that doesn't mean much. The weather was worsening, most all of the teams had bailed from the mountain, and we were one of two parties approaching the true summit. Winds on the summit were consistently 50mph. It was one of those "I can lean into it and it will hold me up" winds. For real and for true. | |
