The Last Ride.
I had told a couple of teammates that if the State Time Trial was cancelled, I'd be up for doing some pickup 'cross as a bailout. It had been raining for 36 hours at this point. Regretably they took me up on it. I had been very, very comfortable in my chair, watching the World Championship Road Race on the internets. I knew I wouldn't hear the end of it if I didn't show, so I suited up and rode over to meet them. I'm kinda pathetic in these conditions (where conditions = riding through calf-deep ponds), but I managed not to dump it. I also managed to get a mud enema in the process. I do not recommend it.
