Hurry Down Doomsday

My heart should be well-schooled
'Cause I've been fooled in the past
And still I fall in love too easily
I fall in love too fast
-Sammy Cahn/Jule Styne

Much of the lower portion of Shoestring Gully is a straightforward snow slog. There was a half-foot or so of hard snow covering ice, interspersed with much rock over which to scrumble8. Pretty easy going for the most part. Here, Brian gets his slog on.

8A frequently inelegant mixture of slogging, scrambling, climbing, grovelling, and hopefully no tumbling. I practice this brand of alpine progression/regression frequently, sadly. ©, me.
