That's It, I'm Calling My Gang

I had prevoiusly attempted Horseshoe Gully (NEI 1-2 III) - God, it's so sad to say, but I will, I will say it - twice. The first time I went solo, got off route (who am I trying to kid? I wasn't even in the same area code), and ended up putting up a new line called Pogue Mahone (NEI 1, M 0.5, SB 5, IV) , which, to my knowledge, has not been repeated. My second try had also been solo and had been more of a snorkelling outing than anything else, ending about half to two-thirds of the way up the route.

Since I finally knew the way on to the climb, I suggested to Brian that Horseshoe might be an easy, if potentially long, day - an opportunity to get back out and... waste some valuable time.

Surprisingly, he agreed.

So we went up. And by up, I mean we sank down to our chests. Upwards.
