Boston Mike, the only other skier I saw. I called ahead as I caught up to him, saying, "I thought I was the only guy dumb enough to do this one." We chatted a bit and it turns out he knows Jon Sheffz, Cambridge rando ski hardman, brother of Ben Shefftz, Tahoe ski whiz and friend of mine and my sometime climbing/skiing partner and good friend Jeff Huber, who now calls Portland, Oregon, home.
We are out there. Mike had been coming off a cold, so he waved me on and I headed on up the trail. |
