Nobody Blogs Anymore
posted: 08/07/09

Twitter killed the blogging star. Didn't you hear?

So. Things.

I am still bike racing too much. I've been training since January, racing since March. Won't stop until mid-December. Things are going much better this year than last year's sob-fest. My back injury has stabilized, my mood is improved, if only slightly. I'm still not where I want to be, but that's part of the sickness fun. Or something.

If nothing else, bike racing gives me the opportunity to make faces like this one.

And that, my friends, is something. That something we've been looking for. Something gruesome.

Grace is 10 months old. She's a squirmy bundle of joy. This is from May of this year.

She's like... twelve times that big now. I like being a dad. I miss sleeping.

Yes, I still play guitar. I'm at the point now where I can only remember bits and pieces of stuff from my first two records. And I'm at the point where I'm semi-consciously reworking stuff from my as-yet-unrecorded third record. None of this is a bad thing. As an artist, I welcome these kinds of changes. And forgetfulness. And half-remembering. Grace likes hearing the guitar. That makes me feel good. And really, even if she didn't, it's not like she can open the door (yet) and run away. So I've got that going for me.

That'll do, pig. That'll do.
